The Story

Abalone is unpredictable — blues, greens and coppers move under the surface as the light changes. Grzegorz let that chaos have the whole body and disciplined it with pearls and a plain silver collar.

About This Work

An abalone shell body left with its full natural iridescence, mounted with pearls and a plain silver collar. The metalwork is intentionally undecorated so the shifting colour of the shell leads.

Entirely carved, fabricated and finished by Grzegorz Kiernicki. Each vessel is a unique work created by the artist by hand.
