The Story

Petal by petal, the flower was carved out of mother-of-pearl, then centred with a single pearl. The shell shifts from pink to silver as the piece turns, so no two viewings look the same.

About This Work

Mother-of-pearl carved petal by petal into an open flower form, centred with a single pearl. The shell's iridescence shifts with the viewing angle, and the silver mount follows the curve of each carved petal.
